4C’S OF DIAMOND QUALITY
Diamonds are graded by four characteristics: carat (weight), cut, clarity, color.
Carat Weight - Carat is the unit of measurement used to weight diamonds. There are
100 points to a carat. The larger the stone, the more rare. To choose the right carat weight
always consider your budget, the size of the finger, the size of the setting, the previous
diamond if owned.( 1.00 carat - 6.5mm , 2.00 carat - + 8.2mm )
Cut - It is a collection of measurements that determine the proportion of a diamond.
The better proportioned the facets are on a diamond the more light will be reflected
back to the viewer’s eye.
- Too Deep
- Normal
- Too Shallow
Clarity -Every diamond is unique with distinctive external and internal characteristics.
A diamond may bear traces of the pressure and process involved in their formation referred
to as “inclusions”. Diamonds are graded for clarity under 10x magnification according to
the amount of inclusion detected.
